Election Day Job

Thursday, May 17, 2007 , Posted by gonkyouka at 11:08 PM

It's already past eight in the morning and I had just gone from my work. At last this is my first job this year. I dunno if how long will this job last as I never signed a contract upon the day I started.
Will this job take a day only? A month? A year?
All I know is that when Roger approached me and told me about this job, I was having a second thought at that moment wether to accept this or not.
I rejected Roger's first offer.
Then if I'm gonna reject this offer again, I'm afraid he night not inform me anymore if there's another job waiting for me. So, I accepted his offer so un-heartedly not knowing that someday I would consider this job as one of the best. I was scheduled in the graveyard shift. That means I will be in Gus Tambunting's headquarter from 7pm until past eight in the morning. Yeah it's thirteen hours of work then sometimes it will reached up to more than 13 hours then sometimes it'll down to twelve or below. I worked for long thirteen hours but there is no overtime pay for it. There is no night differential too. When I was in a call center I got paid for my overtime together with my night differential and other miscellanous payments that would make my salary incomparable to non-call center employees havin' only a minimum salary.
In this job, I only got 250php for every thirteen/twelve hours I worked.
So whats the point of working here when I dont get a higher salary?
It's the company I have. . . thats what matters. Having a co-employees like Roger, Jao, and the rest of the gang seems to be so cool. They're the one who keeps on awakening my liking to this job. They also are the one who takes my stress away (ewww corny.) I loved this job so much that I would cry a river if I am not given a chance to be a regular employee here. lol I've becoming an exaggerated again. Forgive me for that. On the other hand, being an encoder isn't that much cool especially when your laptop can't even access to the internet. But having a company like them makes a difference. I told you if you got somewhat like this guys at your back, you'll wanted to be an encoder forever. There is also another part which contributed an ample amount of my likeness to this job and maybe it is I think because of my boss- Gus Tambunting (read my next post to know why he's a part too.)
This post is for Jao, Roger, and the rest of the gang.
